Raising Our Vibration to Manifest What We Desire

The main principle behind the law of attraction teachings is that like attracts like, and our vibration rate is our most powerful manifesting tool. In other words, the universe responds to what we put out into it. In order to attract something into our lives, we need to vibrate at the same frequency with it.

It is useless to repeat affirmations and engage in “positive thinking” if at the core we believe ourselves to be worthless and unlovable. We may train our mind to look for more positivity in the world, but our overall energy will keep dragging us back to default, to the place where we do not consider ourselves to be worthy of receiving.

We can also define our vibration rate as our level of consciousness. Our reality corresponds to the level of consciousness that we have. This does not mean that by raising our vibration we will somehow avoid all problems in life or will stop encountering negativity altogether. But once we reach a certain level of consciousness, the response to that negativity will no longer drag our vibration down.

So how do we raise our vibration? There are three major areas to pay attention to: healing and integrating whatever lower vibrational emotions we have, opening up to Divine Light and watching what we allow into our energy field.

Healing Lower Vibrational Emotions

Most of us will have at least some parts of our being stuck in lower-vibrational frequencies of shame, guilt, anger, pride or grief. These may come from our ancestry, our childhood and the environment we grew up in. Or we may descend into them through traumatic experiences of our adult life.

At higher stages of spiritual awakening, we also connect with the issues and traumas of our soul group, as well as unhealed issues from our own past incarnations. Inevitably, we dabble with lower level emotions once again. We are not served by avoiding these experiences. Instead, they call us into deeper healing and alignment.

Temporarily experiencing grief or anger can be actually empowering, as we integrate the parts of us that were neglected before. But the danger is that we may get stuck in these lower-consciousness vibrations and suffer as the result. When this happens, it is best to seek help from a qualified spiritual healer.

Opening Up to Divine Light

If all we do is healing and clearing for its own sake, it will very soon start feeling like our job is never done. We will feel like there is an endless array of things “coming up,” a bottomless pit of grief, anxiety and sadness. This will eventually make us feel trapped, wanting to escape with nowhere to go.

The only reason we do any healing work is so we can open up to receive the Divine Light. Whatever we clear and release, we need to fill up with light.

The process is similar to healing unwanted habits or addictions. If we just try to get rid of a bad habit by sheer force of will, it will most likely find its way back into our life. Any permanent change is only possible by replacing an unwanted habit with a desirable one. Instead of smoking, we can choose exercise, instead of drinking, we can choose meditation, and so on.

In the same way, healing and clearing energies is an opportunity to have a personal experience of the Divine. This can be achieved through various forms of meditation, contemplation and prayer — as well as connecting to awakened teachers and power places.

It is most likely, in fact, that our first experience of the divine will come either through a teacher or a spiritual guide who already has a high level of consciousness. Spontaneously experiencing a higher level of consciousness may also come through connecting to a power place, such as a temple or a place of pilgrimage. These automatically raise our vibration.

Watching What We Fill Our Minds and Bodies With

Have you heard the maxim, “you are what you eat”? It is impossible to raise our vibration if we keep filling ourselves with junk food — and this truth applies to our emotional and spiritual well-being, as well.

Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by our environment. The news we watch, the books we read, the people we spend most of our time with — all of this fills us up and shapes our emotions, thoughts and bodies. It also shapes our vibration rate.

In order to raise our vibration, we need to be mindful of our time, thoughts and emotions. Do we watch the news for hours, only to get frustrated and scared? Do we spend our days in gossip and complaining? What kind of books do we read? What kind of conversations do we have?

If we want to achieve something, our best bet is socializing with people who have already achieved it. For example, if we want business success, we need to find people who already are successful, we need to read books and articles and get inspired by ideas about success. If we want spiritual advancement, the same principle applies.

Fresh, clean food, mindful conversations, an uncluttered home and a clean life raise our vibration rate. Mindfully seeking social connections that lift us up, while at the same time avoiding judgement, set us up for success in achieving our desires.
